Historical, Great Lakes, - The Jennie P. King

from NOISES FROM THE ATTIC by Ian Bell and Friends

/

about

A song about a Great Lakes timber vessel working in Lake Erie. From the Ivan Walton Collection. Walton collected songs in the 1930s from the last generation of sailors to have worked "under canvas" on the lakes. The song also appears on my "Forget Me Not..." CD, in a slightly less conventional arrangement. This recording was made for an exhibit at the Port Dover Harbour Museum.
